I have been using Raggtopp for several years. I think it is an excellent product. No masking required, excellent protection. The cleaner works very well too.

Are these products to be used just before storing the top, or all year long?

I use the Raggtopp products twice each year. Keeps a nice level of protection, imho. However, if you drive your car in bad weather regularly, you might want to clean/treat the top every 3-4 months or so.

So, yes, the Raggtopp products are for regular maintenance of the top fabric. If you do choose to purchase Raggtopp, make sure you buy the product for *fabric* tops (vs vinyl).

I have been using the Porsche stuff and it works great. Pricey, but my initial purchase got me a beautiful silver case for all the cleaners, etc.

Next on my list is the Raggtopp product based on input from Kevin and others here on the board.

One advantage that Raggtopp has over the Porsche product is that no masking of glass and painted surfaces is required.

What could be a one hour project with the Porsche protectant is a 5 minute task with Raggtopp.

The results are fantastic also.

I use Raggtop, as well, with good results.

However, definitely use a lint-free cloth to work it in (the wash, that is) or you'll spend a lot of time de-linting the top! Found that out the hard way myself.

I used to use the Vinyl top version of this product on my 97 Miata and it kept the tan top in absolutely perfect condition. No cracking, discoloration etc. Great.
So I thought to use the same brand on the grey fabric top of my new Boxster.
WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT. Although the water repelling feature is there, the grey is now a lot darker overall, and a different, lighter shade where the fabric is under higher tension (above the frame rails). It really did a "job" on the top. Looking closer, it appears that the solvents attack the vinyl layer underneath the fabric and some of it's dark color leaks along the fabric's fibers to the top.
Do the product developers at Ragtopp know how much a new top for a Boxster costs ?!!?

So, unless your top is really ragged and needs this for some other reason, stay away from it! I learnt it the hard way.

I've been using Raggtopp for about 5 years, but only on black tops. I think the Raggtopp cleaner works great, and the top color looks very even and uniform. And of course the water repellant properties are exceptional. After rinsing my top, I can dry it to the touch with a single pass of my "Absorber" synth chammy.

I use RaggTopp on my metropol blue top and think it works and looks great. It does make the top look darker, but in my opinion that is a good thing. Based on the Amazon post, perhaps not such a good result with lighter color tops?
