Hi,

Does anyone know if the above colors are a "Color to sample" option? I read in a porsche magazine that an owner in UK wanted to order a riviera blue for his boxster and Porsche UK did not ask for any premium because it was a color option which Porsche used to offer in the past.

Can anyone confirm?

I have seen (online) a Mexico Blue 997S, so it must be available. But I'm quite sure you would have to pay the color to sample option price (I don't "know" but thats an educated guess). Many colors are not available (even as a color to sample option) because of production problems, especially since PAG uses multiple suppliers and has matching problems.

Any color beyond the basic white, black, red & yellow will be charged a premium, it's just a matter of how much. Any color that is not on the available colors for the 997 will be charged the "paint to sample", even if it was used in the past. And as was mentioned, not all colors are allowed in the "paint to sample" either. Have your local dealer put an inquiry into the availability of your desired color.

A friend has a Mexico Blue 997S here in Reno. Its a visually stunning color, and was a "paint to sample" option. If you order it, make sure you also order the yellow ceramic brakes!

I ordered that 997S in Mexico blue from a dealership in N. Va. last year, but did not take delivery due to personal reasons. Even though, it is an older Porsche color from 1974, you still have to pay the paint-to-sample premium and wait for approval and delivery.
