Default Rattle at Idle???

I previously posted about a rattle when I shut the engine off, But hadn't noticed it at idle before. Now yesterday I noticed that only when the car is warm I hear a rattle, but as soon as i touch the gas it goes away, It's very puzzeling, again it doesn't do it when it's cold, or when I'm driving only, when idling. Any thoughts? also anyone have any opinions on tining the windows? doea anyone like or hate the way it looks?

My car rattles from the retractable spoiler at idle sometimes. I confirmed it by pushing on the upper right corner of the retracted spoiler and it went away. I told the shop when I had it serviced, and they lubricated it, and it sorta seemed to help, but that sound is back now.

It only rattles when I have the air conditioning turned off, since when the AC is on, the idle is slightly different and a little smoother.

Thanks for the tip, I checked that this morning, but unfortunately it wasn't that, I was hopeing it was that simple, I does sound like its coming from teh muffler, but since everything is in there so tight, its hard to tell, I'm going to use a rubber mallet and tap on the mufflers to see if I can reproduce it. If anyone has any other info, thanks in advance.

Have you noticed if it goes away when you put the clutch in ?.....
Gear noise tends to sound like an exaust rattle....you really notice it with a light weight fly wheel.
I would not expect it to go away if it is out of gear and your noise is gear noise...

So make note noise with: Car in gear and or out?

Could it be a loose baffle plate inside the silencer box? Try putting something over the exhaust tip on the rattle side of the engine. If the rattle stops it probably means a new box. I had trouble with both boxes on a 98 car. Found nearly new boxes at a local porsche aftermarket specialist for a fraction of the OPC price!

Thanks guys, tried those tips too, and I didn't notice a change, tried puching the clutch in and tried covering the exhast tips on each side as well, no change, oh man, hope it's not serious, it's just wierd that it goes away right after idle, I figured it can't be a valve or crank, owuldn't that goet alittle louder or faster off idle, but maybe I'm wrong?

Ok so it makes this noise at idle......

get out of the car and try and find it....open up engine compartment...
there is a mechanics tool that looks like a thesisscope (spelling) only with a long prob at the end....
use that if its inside the engine....if its outside...you should be able to track it down easy on a lift.
