Yeah, Pines-to-Palms is a little bit more boring than Hwy-243 to Idyllwild. 243 intersects Pines-to-Palms @ Mountain Center and you can either go east (Palm Springs Area), west (Hemet area), or southwest (Anza/Aguanga area closer to Temecula).
Hwy 243 isn't as popular as Palomar and I wouldn't mind doing that with you, Ed!
Unfortunately, I'm still tentative for Palomar. I will let you know if I'm a go.
