I've found that the 04's are 25-35k cheaper for sure. Hopefully my 1 owner 2900 mile car with a solid PPI from a Porsche Dealer will be just fine.
The market for these cars is what people will pay. People Aren't paying upper 300's and low 400's for these things or the 20 that have been on the market for months/years would be sold. I've watched these for a very long time and the same 15-20 cars have been for sale for the same pricing for a very very long time. Do I feel 300k is the market? NO. Do I think the 425k car you talk about is the market? No. The market is where people are selling them. These cars don't trade hands fast because the owners typically never need to sell them. Possibly the weak dollar will gather their strength back. I know of 3 cars now that have traded for less than 325k and the cars are good.
I'm not talking the values down or up. I'm just a realist. Even at 325k these cars have only lost 25% of there msrp over a 5 year period. That's outstanding in any circles. The guys that paid 100k over sticker for the Scuderia's last year lost 25% in 6 months.
I truly hope the car market stabilizes and I think the downward slide has neared it's end. I really think the high end car market will gain strength now with less demand. Owners will sit and wait it out I believe. Stop trading their cars on a bi-yearly basis and maybe even start driving them. That is what they were made for isn't it?
