It's an option for 997.2s with the new PCM.

It says that it connects via PCM... the description does not mention a radio link as they had on the previous ipod solution. Maybe this is their new ipod interface. If so... I will definitely be getting this. Did the Christophorus article say this was a direct connection to the PCM?

Says control through the PCM. That wouldn't be an FM transmitter.

This is a retrofit kit for the 997.1 owners. Via the MOST ring.

The link specifically says it's for 997.1, although it also says the operations are via the music player. That sounds to me like you can't control the iPod via the PCM.

Dont get excited folks, that is the porsche FM transmitter...it says operation is through music player...meaning ipod or what ever music player is plugged in. It will charge via the 12v power point in the console, BUT there is no MOST connection, hence its compatiblity with CDR units and PCM2.0

That Technik catalog doesn't seem new - so, is this really the same thing mentioned in the C mag?

Don't know if its new or not. That's why I throw it out for discussion and hopefully, a porsche tech guy will know. From the article, it stated the connection is through PCM. But it didn't state control by it. If it doesn't control by PCM, it's basically a Aux passthrough. Having an option of placing in the glove compartment puzzled me. If control by the Ipod, how can it be control?

If it's controlled by the PCM, wouldn't mind look into it unless it.

What you're actually looking to do is have your IPOD work through your current PCM and existing stereo system, without the use of a FM transmitter, correct? If so, you can order the DICE integration kit from BumperPlugs.com. The product is Dension IceLink Gateway 500 and it costs $479. Hope this was helpful.
