Goodbye C7... Hello Miami Blue 718 S
I guess I've lurked enough I should make an introduction.
Sold my Corvette to get the new C8, but before I made a full commitment I took a road trip to see one in person... when I left, I knew I was buying a Porsche!

For me it was based on design. The C8 will undoubtedly be a performer but there are specifically three things that turned me away.
1. It’s a fat pig - rear end is higher and wider than necessary
2. Ridge for HVAC controls - going to be an issue for passengers
3. Door thickness - this will rear its ugly head after some real world use. Entry/exit & possible damages to the door portion of the intake scoop
4. I know I said 3... but the car just didn’t move me? I was excited for it and still kind of shocked at how easily I was able to just brush it off. I’m still interested, but really only performance wise. I’m sure they will work out some of the things, but I’ll wait to see how it all pans out and what changes they make.
I can say with out a doubt, I should have bought the Porsche A long time ago. It’s definitely the better car and every time I look at it I’m amazed at the beauty, not to mention . It’s a vastly superior driving machine.

Congratulations!
I'm going to my local C8 launch on 9/27. I suspect that I will be keeping my 718 S, but going in with an open mind.

C8 is not a bad car, I still look forward to seeing them on the street and owning one at a later date. Let us know what your thoughts are after you’ve seen it.

Great looking car - always loved Miami blue! I doubt you'll regret it - car looks great and drives even better. Interesting takes on the C8. I'd be curious to see the build quality on it and overall quality of the interior/materials - I always assumed those suffered to hit the price point.

The interior on the C8 I viewed was actually pretty nice, other than the color. The Sky Cool Gray leather is by all accounts "White" and shows wear like you'd expect a white seat too. Some of the dash stitching didn't line up with the next panel, but I chalked it up to Pre-Production. Like normal I'd expect some paint & panel fitment issues, but nothing out of the ordinary for GM or anyone cranking out that many cars. I think it'll be good and will put pressure on exotic manufactures in regards to performance, and the overall quality should be on par or better than the previous C7.

Congrats! For once I don't actually mind the amber side marker light.

Thank you!
I added side markers recently that light up and strobe in Miami blue (close enough at least) to match the car and added fender hash marks like you find on Corvettes, Challengers and even Dodge Rams... These have become very popular! See pic below!
Of course I'm just kidding about the hash marks... but I did add Clear markers!
