There is nothing wrong with a black interior. The main knock is that some just find it boring and dark. Black seats, black dash, black headliner, just black everywhere. Personally, I wanted anything but black interior when I was looking mainly because my previous car had a black interior and I was ready for a change. But some people hate red/grey/brown/beige and only want black so, like many things in life, its all personal preference.

The yellow trim accents work so well inside the car. My top choice as well.

White if you're not that great at maintaining because it's the hardest to see swirls. Black if you're really good at maintaining your car.

My 718 S is my first white car and let me tell you I can't tell the difference after I wash it.

Rather disappointing I must say...

How often, if ever, have you polished it? That's how you get the most gloss out of a paint.

That pic almost converted me back to dark side and caused me to spec my new GT4 in black. But then I looked at pictures of black GT4s and Spyders all over the web, and it reminded me of what a nightmare owning black is and I came back from the ledge. Two of my last four Porsches were black and I remember that I couldn't wait to see that color go out of my life.

Understood. Interestingly two of my buddies love their black cars and we’re in the PNW. Maybe they want someone else feel their pain?

I posted in the black 718 Spyder / GT4 thread that if i were or have a mistress I’m sure she would be a pita so this sounds like it’ll fit the bill. Besides it’ll give my wife something to laugh at watching me in a perpetual clean mode.

White for sure, not as exciting as a newly washed and waxed black car but if you add some subtle accents, sort of like the black spyder above, it can look great. I had a Basalt Black (metallic) 911 for about 2 years and was not disappointed to see it leave. Looked great for about 24-48 hours, then needed cleaning again.

On a side note, I love those rims on the Spyder, are they specific to that model, what is the color, and what are they called, thanks. Just getting up to speed with the new Cayman so have some questions.

Those are stock rims in platinum satin.

The black (which I ordered) looks awesome. I also went with the black interior (not concerned with the heat thing here in Canada) with red stiching and trim, I ordered the car almost 2 years ago and it should arrive next month. Having a tough time waiting for the phone call.

I'v had a couple Berlina Black NSX's and they looked great for about two hours after I washed them.....I've been a white fan ever since

I think white is the best looking color, but I'm biased.....

Most of my fun/enthusiast cars have been white (five BMWs) and my previous truck was white (Tahoe). So I am a bit biased. But I have also owned two jet black cars--a BMW 740i and my current Silverado 2500. They both look[ed] amazing right after being washed. But one drive later or even if they just sit in the driveway over night and get condensation on them, and they look dirty again. As someone once told me, if you like a clean car, owning a black car is a bigger commitment than marriage.

So I will go with white here! (As I did on my soon to arrive first Porsche.)
