The 718 T is amazing!
718 T
Last night, I took delivery of this 718 T that I ordered. I probably have lost it as I think I like this more than both the 718 Cayman S and GT4 that I had! Alright put about 150 fun miles on it averaging 10 mpg.
If I can get a hold of a GT4RS, that will likely surpass this as my favorite 718 though.

I'm what situation do you like the T more than the GT4? I can see the T being more fun on the street.

Three Wheelin'
The honeymoon of taking delivery on a new car is an experience that can generate powerful emotions. I just took delivery on my BGTS 4.0 and Macan GTS both back in October so the memories are still fresh. I remember having crazy expectations built up from watching every YouTube review of the car at least 5 times of how the engine would sound and feel, and still being floored when I actually experienced it. Even more so with the Macan. They both exceeded all expectations and I was (kind of still am) on cloud 9.
Dopamine is a hell of a drug.
That said, there is no objective reality where a 718 T is "better" than a GT4. I will say though, that if this is OPs first experience behind the wheel of a 718 coming from a 981 S and GT4, then maybe there are enough subtle differences for this to be a completely understandable subjective enhancement over even the king of the 981 platform. All bias aside, that 2.0 4 cylinder paired to a manual transmission is a sublime experience.
Still a tough pill to swallow though but hey, who are we to judge? OP loves his car, that's all that matters.

718T is far more than the sum of its parts. As a DD, ‘round town, errand runner it is more fun than the more-powerful and/or longer-legged family members. You get to actually use much more of its envelope routinely.
It does however require that one has outgrown the horsepower fetish or has another means of satisfying those urges.

I have had 2 987.1s 2 987.2s a 981s and now the 718T. I also have a 997s. The T is a beautiful and impressive package. It is the fastest car out of all of them, and doubtful I will ever push it to its limits, so there is no need for anything more. If I decide I want more power, I will do an APR tune, and it will even the playing field even more to an S or GTS

In other words… the motor isn’t the only difference between the T and the GT4. You shouldn’t assume that higher HP is a GT4’s owners only desirable attribute.

it seems presumptuous of you to imply that people who buy GT4s do so because of HP. As you probably know, these cars (the T trim included) are the sum of their parts. And often, many parts are unique to a particular trim.

Any “implications” are the result of your own baggage you’re bringing to the table.

Wow it looks fantastic! I was battling between a T and a GTS 2.5, as they have pretty much the same option package. The T feels much more special than an S to me, and in the end not that different from a GTS. I ended up ordering a GTS 4.0 mainly for the lack of good T cars and was lucky to find an order for the 4.0.

I just got my Arctic Gray T a week ago and am obsessed with it as well! Breaking it in has been a really tough task as this car just begs to be driven hard/fast. I have been impressed with the low end torque even below 4k though.

Many assume that *their* use case for a Porsche is the only possible use case and thus anyone that makes a different decision must somehow be ‘compromising’ or ‘justifying’.
