My only requirement is PDK. I’m happy with the base seats and would install OHLINS but I like PASM more. This is a GT daily no track. I’m interested in 2019s +.
Thanks for your opinions.

I'd rather have a better platform with less flash. So, for me, the S.

Bare bones S
Easier to add aftermarket performance to an existing S, than upgrade the engine on a base

If you're not going to track the car, a base will be plenty enough for the streets....you can always add a tune for about $1000 and have more HP than a stock S if you think you may need more power and that 1/2 a second quicker 0-60
The base 718 comes with the 981 S brakes which are plenty good enough for any street driving you might be doing and it feels quicker than my previous 981S too due to the turbo.
Other than that there really isn't much difference between the S and the base....best thing to do would be test drive them back to back and make your decision based on what is important to YOU....not us

From your original post it appears you're considering used cars (2019+).
For $80K you can bump your search up to and including the 2018/19 GTS. There are currently 6 listed by Porsche Dealers nationwide for under $80K.
Decide what's important to you on options/trim, colors, etc and go from there.

I’m glad you brought that up. Is an 18/19 the same car as a 2021+? I guess my question is if a base 2021 is a better car than a 2019 S/GTS mileage and condition being equal. I’m not concerned with resale, I keep cars a long time. I love the 2.5 GTS but don’t love it’s s bit older than the base cars I can buy. Non issue?
You can find a very low miles 2.5gts with in budget with a bit of patience. No substantial differences between it and a heavily optioned later S. If you really want a newish car, go with that, but there is nothing particularly problematic about 18/19 gts either.

I still think the Base is the bargain in the sports car world, I would do a bare bones base and pocket the diff!
