Default Can you push the once a year service a few weeks?

So I had my 718 serviced last year 3 weeks in advance of the 1 year mark.

This year I would prefer to wait a couple weeks and have it serviced what will be about 55 weeks since last service instead of 52. The mileage is well below.

I asked a service advisor when I was there and I received the vague answer "that SHOULDN'T be an issue"

Just wondering what people's experiences are in this regard?

They're guidelines. Your oil isn't going to go from "fine" to "destroy your engine bad" because it went from 365 days old to 385 days old.

You’re thinking too much. This is still a car at the end of the day; it isn’t some urgent/emergent procedure that is life/limb threatening. You’ll be fine.

As for the non-answer the SA gave you - that’s usually what you’ll get if you ask another party to ‘predict the future’ without certainty and pose a risk that you may hold it over their head if something does go wrong.

What is your concern? Your oil is going to be fine if you delay a few weeks. Are you worried about a warranty type issue?

Yea whats the paranoia about? Is this your first car that you've done an oil change on?

all good, was able to get a clearer answer from the dealer that pushing it a few weeks won't be an issue with respect to warranty coverage

You will be more than fine. I think the brochure suggests oil changes every 15,000 miles.

Engine will granade on day 366. The million-year old petroleum in your oil will decide that it has spent enough time on this earth and evaporate.

You will be perfectly fine. I know a lady who had a (running) Corolla for almost 8 years without an oil change. Obviously an extreme example but as long as the oil level it fine, you are going to be ok waiting a few weeks especially with that low milage.

Porsche Dealers are flexible on this as there can be times where if the shop is busy you might not be able to get in per your advised period. Now worries asking questions like this not paranoia just questioning how strict various manufacturers can be. If you had had a Ferrari that might have made you uber paranoid, but Porsche is pretty darn good about reasonable service checks.
