Crack in wing
I am looking at a 2017 718 Cayman and the rear standard wing is cracked on the top. The car is orange and the wing is black and the black area has a crack in it about 4 inches long and you can see the orange paint color under the crack. So it looks like the black covering is cracked and not the actual wing? Any idea if this can be repaired or must just fully replaced?

What does the seller say?
Hard to tell if that is a crappy paint or wrap cracking. Either way looks like ****.
Probably other areas are also suspect, like maintenance, if someone ok deferring this.
Good luck!

Probably just a tear in a crappy wrap job but no one can tell 100% from a photo alone. The orange paint underneath is the clue. A black factory option wing wouldn't be orange underneath.
Hit the spoiler activation button in the cabin and put it up. I suspect you'll find the edges of the wrap underneath.
The wing can be replaced if damaged - looks to be about a $500 part. Can't imagine it would take much labor.
Agree with a good look at the car's history and a PPI.

This car is at a Chevy Dealership. I believe its a wrap on the wing. I drove the car and it seems solid with clean carfax but told them if I am interested will be getting an extensive PPI. Thanks for the comments.

Looks like the wrap has split to me.

I would actually ask them if you can remove the wrap. You dont know if the vinyl was done as an aesthetic mod or if its to hide some other damage. I've known people who have accidentally burned their paint when polishing and have wrapped over it to cover it up. The fact that the wrap is splitting as it is tells me it was either a really really bad wrap job or it was super low quality vinyl.
But that being said the dealership shouldnt have any issue with you removing the vinyl if thats what it is.
