Totally OT but why we are all waiting, is anyone else underwhelmed by the appearance of the exhaust tips? Too much gap between the cut outs and the actual tips in my opinion. Especially considering how the the 992 S tips show minimal gap.

Agree. They could've done a better job with that aspect. Would have preferred meatier single tips or dual tips together in the centre. I'm sure aftermarket will take care of those single tips depending how much clearance there is for something else.

First thing I will be doing is painting the entire exhaust black to hide the weird fitment.

I will definitely get an aftermarket exhaust with black ceramic tips.

992 tips are not attached to the exhaust... where the 982 Spyder are... exhaust movement limits this... I agree it could have been better though, but it is no way a deal breaker.

Another very likeable explanation is, once again one related to those infamous GPF, as it ran over hot regenerations cycles the exhaust tips would get hotter than normal, so more gap is required to prevent fire/melt.. unless you go to the solution of fake exhausts that many manufacturers are adopting .

Remember this is German engineering at best so I would think twice before thinking they have been lazy or incompetent in some regards ... yes some aftermarket lot related to bypass GPF would work, but there's a lot of side effects and interaction to be aware of in order to get things properly fixed...

It's annoying to read about exhausts in a delay of production thread.

Not as aggravating as reading about production delays in a delay of production thread

Seems to be the norm with these guys. Out of a list of 5. Only the dealers who are asking big ADMs return my messages.

I have been asking my CO dealer (I have the #2 allocation on wait list since 2017) every few weeks about when
are they going to get it. They have been saying 'Not yet' every time. Now I see there is a larger issue at hand
in relationship to the delayed US production schedules. I am fine with it for several reasons. It allows PAG to
use the markets where they are delivering the 718 gt4/Spyder to test 'quality control' on this new model. By the
time we get ours, they might have solved & cured some early missteps.

It also gives them time to introduce a new color - 'Lizard Green' - to the 'Special Color' offering. I would be a
happy camper if they use this time to get that stunning color approved for regular production...as it is presently
on the 992. I have given up on PTS. Or LTS. But I am praying that the Color Gods give us 'Lizard Green' as a
consolation prize.

I agree wholeheartedly and all good points. Maybe with lizard green they could also reintroduce carmine red. Although tbh, I’m having a hard enough time choosing between GT Silver, Guards Red and Gentian Blue.
