Default 718 GT4/Spyder Aftermarket Exhaust

I’m looking for an aftermarket exhaust solution for the 718 Spyder.

According to a number of reviewers, the sound is not nearly as loud as the previous 981 without OPF.

Wow....do you have a car already?
All manufacturers of aftermarket exhaust parts will need a car to design the new components.
Your best bet is European brands like Cargraphics. They would be able to get a car ahead of the US manufacturers.
We still don't know if 981 headers fit and exit in the same location....
But I'm betting a popular mod could be a new B-Pipe (mid Pipe) that replaces the OEM one from the exhaust manifold to the exhaust valves, taking out the GPF or whatever we get in the rest of the world.

I think in some ways it sounds better than the 981 as it is more induction based, the only difficulties is the quiet zone from 2-4k due to regs, If I could get the flaps open across the whole range but with the switch STILL working that would suit me...

In a nutshell...we need to mod the exhaust. Wonder how the US Spec cars will sound...probably similar as they plan to put something else instead of the GPF.

In looking at the design of the exhaust, even with the particulate filters, a center muffler bypass will probably be the ticket.

If you can't take out the GPF in your State/Country...this would be the only way to address the sound issue.
But IMO taking out the GPF or whatever they put for the US in there will make a big difference.
From the diagrams I don't see any sensors pre or post the GPF so it may even work without a Tune

Imagine if everybody remove their catalytic converter from their car! The life expectancy will go down in every city. The GPF is for your health ! Every fuel car need one . I hope they will keep it for north america ! And if you remove it , please dont cry if cancer or cardio-respiratory disease occur in your family. I am not Greta but i do what i can.

Pretty sure North America cars (at least US) have nothing in the GPF. Just an empty shell to retain the same physical characteristics, but without any factory filtering.

BTW, I think cat deletes are stupid, so i agree with you.

The reason I said this was that I was under the impression that the GPF in the US bound (NA?) cars is hollow. And that there is a flange on the back of it, making it an ideal point for a typical "center delete" installation.

The next flange back is behind the axle, where the over-the-axle pipe (which also houses the GPF or GPF shell) connects to the cat. So you could change those out, but no need to pay the material or labor if not necessary.

I don't think you will get hollow GPF shells...first it would compromise the efficiency and sound of the exhaust system. Since the new muffler is smaller and has less sound absorption (like on the Speedster - AP mentions this strategy of smaller mufflers with GPF on an interview) they need something there to attenuate sound and create a bit of back pressure. They can't go around making different exhaust system for EU and ROW cars so the probability is very high the US spec cars will have some kind pre-muffler inside those shells or.....the 718 GT4 CS have the cats where the GPF goes and the manifolds are catless.....who know, maybe we will get that.

Maybe you can offer objective peer reviewed data to support your claims?
But if not, we should all embrace what Greta says, right?

This is my stop, please let me off the crazy bus.

Wow, disappointing review. Will be interesting to see what else comes out as the car starts to get delivered.
