911.2 GTS to a 718 GTS 4.0
I am new to the Porsche world and love it. I got my first Porsche 2018 991.2 PDK GTS in Sept 2020. I loved it and thought I would keep it for several years. Then I watched several reviews of the 2021 718 Boxster GTS 4.0 PDK. I test drove it yesterday and was in love. I traded in my 911 and broke even. That is even after I had PPF and ceramic coating applied for around $4,500. I realized I loved the 911 when I was really putting it through its paces but diving the speed limit around town it was a bit rough for my liking compared to the 718 4.0. In the 718 I find I get the best for what I love. Inspired driving 10 percent of the time and 90 percent cruising through the curvy roads and Mountains of NC. The convertible feature is also a big plus. I would not have gotten rid of the 911 for anything else but the 4.0. In my opinion it is incredible. Could not be any happier with my choice. Take care and enjoy your Porsches. Please let me know if you have any questions

Guilty. 997.2 TTS is arguably one of the more "raw" modern Turbos but paired with my PDK it manages to be both crazy fast and rather boring. Unless I'm getting after it, it feels like a touring car that asks nothing from the driver except the willingness to pay for speeding tickets. I'm looking forward to my "slow" manual Spyder!

I need to say I loved the 991.2 GTS,however, the 718 boxster GTS 4.0 suites me better. Every bit the excitement when driven hard with incredible sound and then better ride for the hours of upcoming rides just cruising around the country side with the top down. Simply perfect for my taste. Porsche has hit it out of the park with the 4.0. Well done

I switched from my '15 991.1 GTS Cabriolet (PDK) to a 718 Spyder (6MT) ... wanted a car with the real gearbox - "flappy paddles are for grandma's"

Good info .... I'm in Knoxville TN and working on getting the same thing, for similar reasons. So thank you, for in my case, a reassuring assessment.

It is very different. It doesn’t punch you in the back like the 991.1 turbo does. It is more gradual and continues to climb with power as the RPM’s climb. It just keeps going which is so much fun and the note from the engine is magic as it climbs. Can you tell I love it.

I can tell that it is a bit slower at lower rpm’s but it almost seems faster at the top end. It is really quick and very nimble. It is everything I will ever want or need when it comes to speed and power. It makes me feel a bit nervous just like the 911 did in respect to the power in a very good way. Drive it for 30 min and I think you will understand.

Hi CraigDK,
I think I know which GTS 4.0 you got as I was at the dealership yesterday afternoon to look at it and it had sold that morning, I'm guessing to you.
I was hoping to take a test drive in it but cie la vie! Any chance we can meet up and you can show me what it can do? I'm on the fence about
getting one without at least having been in one on the street to see what the NA 4.0 is like. I'm in Winston Salem. PM me. Thanks!
