Nobody who spends $100k+ on a two-seater toy needs the money for anything else. And likely most people have many times this amount sitting safely tucked away for the next world disaster. So why would anyone who spec'd a largely built-to-order car, and waited a long time to get it, sell it so soon unless the car really didn't live up to expectations. I wouldn't sell my Spyder for any reasonable amount of money because there is nothing I would want to replace it with.

I have always wanted to do European Delivery. That is the only reason I would sell the GT4. I would want 10K over MSRP.

I guess if push came to shove and I could secure an allocation for a GT3T at sticker I’d let my $106k MSRP Spyder go for $110k. Considering the GT3T isn’t even a car yet and allocations are virtually impossible to come by unless you are a multiple, high dollar customer I’ll be keeping the Spyder for the foreseeable future

The extra $5,000 to $10,000 you might get if you sold in a tight market isn't worth getting back in line to wait for another. In California you'd give all that money back to the state in sales tax on a new car so most owners wouldn't bother unless there was more $$$ on the table.

The only thing better about such a car would be the sound. And a lot of things would be worse. Maintenance cost aside, how about the fact that it will spend a lot of time in the shop and won't actually be able to drive it.

I think you should be right about anyone willing to special order it. It's a 1-2 year process, they should know exactly what they're getting, there also isn't anything else similar that is new... and with 1-2 years to think about it, that's plenty of time to run the math and find out if there is any problems affording it or have the wife to freak out over it.

But the Covid abandoned GT4/spyders always seemed odd to me, because it kind says there actually are a lot of people financing these things based off money they will or hopefully will earn someday.... or way too many allocations went to flippers who thought they were about to lose their shirt and pulled the plug.
