I am subscribed to a search on autotrader and every day get a list of 3, 4 or more GT4's for sale, mostly used with a few thousand on them and asking about $20k over MSRP. what gives?

People trying to make a quick buck, that's all...same thing with Spyders but nearly not as many, probably due to the fact that not as many are made.

Or they've been offering people MSRP knowing they can ask 20g over and potentially get 10g over. If someone offers you what you paid for a car 1-2 years after you bought that generally is a smart financial decision to say sold! One of my brother's friends just sold his 2 year old truck for 4g more than he paid for it to a dealer. Another one was offered 118g for a truck he paid around 100g for months ago, from a dealer and declined becuase they couldn't guarantee they could get him another within 6 months.

There is a lot of trading up going on, when you have more equity in the current car than you expected.

About 8 months ago I thought about going back to a GT4 and trading my 18 GT3. Passed on the offer on my car. Fast forward to the current market and the same dealer offered $30k more for my GT3 on a configurable GT4. My GT4 is due in November.😄
The current market is a bit crazy.

Part of the reason I've seen are people dumping it because it is not a car build as a daily driver. It is a track car and while you can use it as a daily driver, but it is at best a compromise. People buy things based on sentiments regardless whether it is suitable for them. Having said all that, the GT4 is a great car and doing very well on what it is built and designed to do.

Especially with LWBs, do people actually daily these things? It's not practical at all and it's a hassle for every day driving, I have the complete opposite car as a daily which is a Diesel JL 4 door Wrangler on 35 inch tires so I can park wherever, run over whatever, and it's extremely practical. It really makes driving the GT4 a special experience every time.
The cayman with lwb isn’t practical, but it’s damn fun anywhere all the time. And it parks a lot better than a Jeep in the concrete jungle

I can park the jeep much easier, and every time someone has hit my jeep they hit my tires. It seems every time I drive the GT4 someone swings the door open and hits me, it sucks but PPF takes the hit and just rubs away
