718 GTS 4.0 w/ GTS interior
So my build locks in a week, and I’m trying to decide between the GTS interior package vs going full leather. For those who opted for the GTS interior, any regrets?
Thanks.
Thanks.

I am in same boat other than a month to decide. Will be interested to read any comments posted. Not a leather fan so thought it would be a given for me to go the Alcantara, but I am not sure anymore. I looked at GTS interior package this week, and compared to Bordeaux/Black leather, might think the leather looks more special. Again, like colours, everyone's opinions likely differ a lot. My concern with the GTS Interior package is that even with Chalk or Carmine stitching, the cabin becomes too grey and bland. But for sportiness, it probably fits the bill much better than leather in my mind.

Not sure if it counts but for my 2016 BGTS I went with the GTS interior package and loved it! So much so on my Spyder, the way I options it's interior with the Alcantara and deviated stitching it was pretty much the same look and IMHO it is great!

For me in my Boxster, I wanted vented seats. I also wanted 14 way seats. The 18 ways do not fit me properly, although I’m HWP and 6’2”. Both requirements call for a leather option. I did black and matched the stitching to the exterior color.
I did Sport Tex in my 992 and it was not comfortable for me in the summer. It was warm, but my body temp runs warm. The material keeps you from sliding, and that’s great if you are tracking or regularly drive hard… but it adds effort when getting in and out of your car as you can’t slide your butt around easily. The micro suede is similar. However, the GTS interior package looks fantastic.
It’s all about how you are going to use your car. My focus was to build an open top sports car for country road driving and long trips. Just think of how you will use the car. Porsche does a great job of providing you with the tools to build a car that’s just for you.
I think a stripper GTS is a fantastic car, too. Zero options.

I opted for the stripper and may be in the minority here, but I prefer alcantara to leather. Only owned leather until I bought a GT350 with alcantara Recaros and I'm now a convert. The alcantara doesn't get either hot or cold (or sweaty) and is an ideal material for autocross or track. It also doesn't require any maintenance. I also got the base seats and frankly once you adjust them once or twice you never touch them again. It also fits the character of the car.

My 'laundry list' commentary & expansion of some of the points thus far:
- The Alcantara seating is wonderful--even in the summer. But psychologically agree it's hard to think 'the black seat' is going to be cool.
- If you go leather, there are BEAUTIFUL color options in the GTS. To me, choosing a non-black leather is super compelling in the GTS-trim.
- I think the Alcantara wears well, but the leather is truly bullet-proof.
- Don't get hung-up on the 'cooling seats' functionality. I had chalk colored leather in my 2017 Boxster S--nice noise from the fan--but really not very effective. (And I'm 6'2 and 180 pounds.)
- Downside of Alcantara (and I learned this in my 2018 Volvo V90 wagon), is that IF you are an active runner / biker / hiker...and you tend to drive to your car immediately after the activity...the seats are a SPONGE. They'll be wet all day unless you change or have towels to line them before you drive.

Final endorsement, my next cars will both be 2-way sport seats plus.

Please have in mind that the current cars do have RaceTex instead of Alcantara. I have a 981 Spyder with Alcantara and love it! However, RaceTex should be the same but it isn't (at least for me). It feels not as "soft" and "nice" as Alcantara. It feels in someway "thinner". So you might want to check it out if you have not touched it.

I had the full leather 18 ways in my last P-car, a 2019 Targa GTS but I opted for the leather in that car. In my new P-car, a 2021 Spyder, I opted for the base seats, the Sport + seats and while I ordered the car with as much leather as possible off the configurator I kind of like the mouse fur centers on the seats, even in the Florida heat.
