This particular model feels like one of the most underestimated by the paper racers and forum jockeys. It’s not a track weapon, for sure, and there are a ton of other cars that go faster in a straight line. As a wholistic sports car, though, it’s absolutely fantastic.

These are great cars, so not surprised at the glowing review.

The more I drive my CGTS, the more I appreciate what a livable sports car it is. IMO, it is really the sweetspot in the 718 model lineup for my needs.

At 15,000 miles mine seems to be getting better and better. Fully agree that it’s the sweet-spot of the lineup.

That could be said about most Porsches. Car reviewers rarely mention the things that make them special and different to nearly everything else. They might mention the history of the ignition location but rarely mention how well the ergos are sorted, how race ready and durable they tend to be, how they sound and respond, the engineering that goes into them and the fact they are somewhat bespoke and hand built.

I do think the GTS/GT4 will be looked back on as special and the perfect recipe for an awesome car…mid engine, rwd, flat 6, somewhat practical, reliable, and manual.

Looks like they posted their 30k update. Apparently someone on the team beat the heck out of the clutch to the tune of $4900.

I'm actually angry about all of them whining about no place to put your phone. Do these reviewers actually understand the car? Have they used it more than just a drive around the parking lot? There's a perfect spot in front of the speaker that will seat a phone, as well as in the door panel itself, you can open the container to put something the perfect size of a cell phone in there. It maddens me to hear this, as I think it's absolute BS. I've read this on a couple reviews and it actually makes me question some of their integrity. You'd think someone would put it in the logbook about this special hidden wonderful land to store a phone.

The same BS about cupholders.... Anyway, just morons. These are very special cars for sporting purposes. Got get a Toyota if you want a regular car.

Simmer down, don't have an aneurysm now... it's not that serious lol.
Yes, they've driven it beyond a parking lot - to the tune of 30k miles, actually.

They actually review these cars in the long term tests from a full liveability perspective, not just canyon carving or trackdays. That's why they're talking about a GTS.

8 weeks of ownership since I took delivery, and I will hit 5K on the odometer tomorrow morning.
My GT4 has seen its fair share of back road driving, daily commutes (w/dog), grocery getting, and one track day under my belt (many more to follow). Honestly the only thing I don’t like is the mindless highway miles I put on the car going back and forth to work (~60 mile round trip); which is why I will most likely get a true daily come Fall.

I’ll be sure to update y’all with a true 30,000 mile review by years end .

Simple phone mount solution was in hand prior to taking delivery. My phone has never fell/moved once I place it on the mount (left center air vent over the PCM).
Paired with a wireless CarPlay adapter. Draw back to not being hardwired = battery drain on the phone is 10X faster than normal.

I'm about 200 miles shy of 22K on my 22' GT4 in 1.5 years (crazy it has been that long already) My current plan is to drive it to about 120K - 140K miles over the next 7 years. Here is hoping the PDK and motor make it that long.

idk, I’ve used that pocket for my phone, but it has two disadvantages—one, I’m right handed, so I don’t naturally grab for my phone with my left. But two, more importantly, you can’t easily plug it in over there.

I’ve found the best place is just jammed between the passenger seat and the console. I’ve thought about a mount but don’t love the space they all take up, and there just isn’t a good location for them.

Weird, I just put my phone in the console, plug it in and close the lid. The last thing I want to look at is my phone mounted near the shifter.
