Question on GT gears - regear for GT4?

GT mainshaft solution has slightly shorter ratios than DeMan
GT has more experience making gear sets, but perhaps only 3 gear kits. Their mainshaft product is more recent
DeMan sells directly (NY)
GT sells via Sharkwerks (CA) or BGB (FL), but not direct
DeMan has gear sets in stock now
GT main shaft sets are back ordered, on sale in a month
Noise is about the same for both, and not an issue
Reliability is great for both; nobody has ever had a failure
Cost is about the same; DeMan perhaps slightly higher
Did I miss anything?

It’s great to see Rick and Matt posting in the same thread. I’m trying to make a decision between the 2 options. Any solution I choose must have a shorter 2nd gear. Would appreciate if anyone can fact-check my conclusions:

Don't think you could go wrong with either. Seems you are geographically very close to DeMan, so should be your preferred option. Personally, my decision was based around cost($3k cheaper), experience, communication and transparency..

Did you even read post #30 where @RoadrunnerGTS replied to you, you do realize that he is in Australia?
Perhaps you should reach out to Rick DeMan or Sharkwerks and ask them (the company) what the cost of the gears and installation would be?

There is a video floating around about someone driving the shorter 2nd gear and preferring the Deman set up. Does anyone know where that is and can post it? I’ve heard Facebook but am not sure where.

I think you got your other questions answered, so haven’t quoted them.
As for the UK question, outside the States we will sell direct. We are a wholesale manufacturer, and these are not DIY parts. In the States I can give you a couple dozen dealers who have installed these parts. Sharkwerks and BGB actively advertise these parts, but there is nothing exclusive about what they are doing. Depending on your location, you might not need to ship your gearbox.

We first made the gears in 2013. We’ve been offering the mainshafts with short 2nds since 2017. We make them in both a 987 version and for the late model cars.

Anyone interested in our products, please shoot me an email at gtgears@yahoo.com. I’m not a vendor here and don’t come around very often these days. I popped into this thread in the first place because someone had given me a heads up about Tony not getting a reply to his email.

It wasn’t that one, it was one that Deman referenced along the lines of “there’s a video on Facebook where a pro driver tries a shorter 2nd on track and prefers the Deman gear set”.
