Doubting OAP? Don't! Just do it
For those of you who are contemplating an OAP and need a little extra confidence...
I have been living with my Akra OAP for about 1,500 miles now in my Boxster GTS, and the experience is nothing short of amazing! I did not install a valve controller, but I actually enjoy it this way (for now... ). It is nice not having to worry about drone in the low rev range, so I just leave the valves open at all times. With normal factory valve operation, there is no drone... So long as you are in the proper gear and not flooring it in 6th at 2k RPM.
The car absolutely screams at 5k+ RPM and as you approach redline it is one of the most glorious sounding cars I have ever experienced. Downshifts sound amazing...
The car certainly got louder (obviously)... But the car just feels and sounds like it is breathing now. The way it should have been from the factory.
If you are on the fence, just do it! I wish I did it sooner...

I have the SOUL Ceramic Coated OAP, Rear Valved Muffler, Symposer Delete and the Cargraphics vale controller.
At now plus 7,000 miles and over 1-year of driving.
I can say without any doubt my GT4 with the 7-Speed PDK is a Hell Raiser and at Wide-Open-Throttle sounds like a GT3.

Can’t deny OAP are basically a requirement for this platform and may very well be enough for most folks but, for me, I also needed a back box to change the tone from the “dual 3-cylinder” sound to a screaming GT3 like banshee. OAP alone increases the volume, for sure, but doesn’t really change the tone.

What back box do you have?

Beauitful… I’m sure it sounds glorious.
As much as I’d love a setup like that, I worry it may attract some unwanted attention in CA. Law enforcement is all over aftermarket exhausts around here….
My Akra OAP looks OEM 😉

I replaced this box of rocks with the Soul non-resonated race exhaust. A noticeable performance boost and it sounds amazing! Just need to keep the garage door down when I start it

Doubting OAP? Don't! Just do it
Got the Flat6 OAP's installed today and they sound great. I've only seen a few threads about Boxster GTS's getting aftermarket OAP's, so I was on the fence about getting them. The car is slightly louder than with the factory OAP's, but I'm still able to easily carry on a conversation with the new OAP's. The sound is definitely louder and higher toned in the upper RPM's. Letting off the gas from higher RPM's, you hear a metallic sound from the exhaust, whereas before, there was no such sound. This is a great modification if you want to hear more exhaust when you get on it.

Wish Kline would sell just the OAP so I could get the back exhaust later.
