The place in history of the GT4 / spyder

I could be wrong, but it sounded like he said "Tourings". But given how the rest of the conversation went, it could be just the size of the newer cars that is the issue, and the GT4s/Spyders are that sweet spot of new and old.

Interesting comment re: size. I am fully on board with that. The 996 GT3 feels the right size for sure, the GT4 too, but just. It's amazing how much bigger the GT4 feels than the 996 GT3.

Not all change is good. Bigger picture, I have grave concerns about what a legislated move away from cheap energy and into forced overcomplications applied to... everything including water heaters... will do for western nations on the world competitive stage.

I might hold a minority position here, but I don't see them being collector cars. There's some short term hysteria b/c of the replacement but I'm certain that most Porsche owners prefer to have the newest, next and best offering. I'm willing to bet once the EV version is released you'll see a lot of these cars hitting dealer lots again as owners trade up. And overwhelming number of owners aren't on the forums. They simply own the cars like any other vehicle.
maybe to a point, but almost every single person who i talk with what has owned or still does a gt4 and more so the 981's, will say they either wish they never sold it or nothing they have driven since compares. yes the 3's are faster and people always love the new shiny toys, and while i agree i dont think it will truly become a collector, i dont think you will see many listed at the same time to drop prices.
