I guess it could be an existing model test mule with the exhaust/back bumper still in place

I do not see that happening as Tesla has a cultish following. By 2025, Tesla will have a sports car that will compete with the E-718. Probably will release much sooner too. Personally, I will never own a EV sport car.

My 4.0 is a lifetime keeper.
That is because for many, many years, shifting gears and sound have been hardwired into people's brains as what two aspects of sports cars are all about. I can't say that that part of the sensory experience of driving doesn't appeal to me also, but just calling it out on what it is.

It's like the iPhone. When it comes out, I'll say I'm waiting for the next version because of the new features it's going to have.

I'm first on the list at my dealer. No deposit necessary. Can't wait for this game-changing sports car!

I wonder if the virtue signaling mount will be standard equipment, or an optional extra...

As a PCA member since 1984 who was living in humid subtropical south Florida at the time, I welcomed the water-cooled cars with their far superior air conditioning. I do not have any desire for an electric "sports" car without a gearbox. To each their own.

75 year olds aren't going to buy one, I'm pretty sure about that.
