718 GT4 Side Scoop Clips vs Screws
Is there anyone who can confirm that their 718 GT4 side scoops, the ones behind the door, are only attached via clips and not screws? Mine are attached via screws but I was wondering if that is true for all 718 GT4s or just some. It seems like ordering a set of side scoops from OEM/Suncoast, they advise you to use 3m but I would like to avoid using both if such a path exists. Semi-related, are their any 718 owners who are running the GT4 side scoops with clips only and have tested the car at higher speeds? I go tracking every now and then and would prefer to not lose my side scoops 😂

I have had the GT4 side scoops on my Spyder for over a year and they have not become loose, etc. - tested to about 125. There is a thread about the side scoops here in the forum with a lot of useful information.

I took my rocker panel off and my scoops are screwed in. See this removal guide

Seems those with non-GT4 adding these as a mod, there are no screws (as from Suncoast)

I'm under the impression that the 981 version used screws and the 982 (718) versions did not. Of course, I could have entirely made that up in my head.

718 GT4 uses 3 self tapping T20 Torx screws on each scoop. I’m looking for the part numbers.
EDIT: To attach use 6 of 99907314209 panel screw

Yep. GT4's these are clipped and screwed from factory.
Adding OEM scoops to a Spyder they just clip in with no screws plus double sided tape instead of screws.

From the removal guide
Enlarged part number
This is a different number than what I ordered and currently available for GT4 scoops. I’m wondering if there was a part number change after 2020 and a different design for GT4’s that no longer needed the three interior screws?
These are the GT4 scoops that are currently available: 982 853 241 AG2X and 982 853 242 AG2X (Outside Covers) and 982 853 189 E0K1 and 982 853 190 E0K1 (Inside Part).
Can anyone with a newer model GT4 2021 - 2023 confirm if the screws are still being used to secure the scoops to the cars?

Is it necessary to also order the GT4 inside air inlet or will the GT4 side scoops work with the air inlet on my 21 CGTS? This is definitely the next modification I am wanting to do to my car. Thanks for all the great information!!

I am pretty sure that you have the two GT4 parts working together to make one piece, the inside and the outside cover make one scoop. The CGTS most likely has a part that is not compatible with the GT4 parts.

If you bought those from Suncoast you should have everything you need.
Unclip your black scoop inserts and clip these new ones in with double sidded tape. Your scoop inserts will not be screwed in.
I'm currently getting a set painted as well to go on my spyder.
