My First Porsche - 718 Cayman Gt4

the car will definitely be tracked. I just sold my full competition W2W race car which I’ve raced nationally. That car did 1:16.xx at Thompson. Hoping for about the same with the GT4 on street tires (cup 2) and 1:15 or below on R7 or Contis.
definitely excited to get the car to Thompson and other tracks around, especially Watkins Glen!

Nice GT4! Dont expect too much from it out of the box and you wont be too disappointed as it wont compare initially very well to your previous track/race car... Drive it a bit and then get to work on the alignment and other suspension bits and pieces (wont be able to change the wheels or get much better tires (for the street) because of the PCCBs - unless you remove them. Maybe the Goodyear Super Car 3s if you can find)... then the car is pretty good. Enjoy!
yes I’m under no illusion it will be a competent track car out of the box. I’ll get it there!
enjoying driving it so far! About 1600 miles

It is really really good with some minor tweaks and exceptional with some major ones. It IS a FUN car. There are MANY threads here on the topic and shouldnt be too hard to get the car where you might want it. Please post up on what you do and progress so we all can learn!

Update: first track day went well.
I managed to only be about 2 seconds off my E46 M3 racecar pace. That’s pretty good for a stock car. I think the Gt4 made up some of that time on the straights, and was significantly less capable in the turns.
Factory alignment just leaves a TON to be desired.
Next step is to get the car a track alignment and some fresh high temp fluids. I think it’ll make a huge difference.
Overall I was super impressed with it, being a stock car.
Considering softronic tune but unsure what this would do for warranty.

Congrats on a fabulous car! Love your spec
I went for a ride tonight and it turned 8000 miles as I pulled down the driveway. As mileage goes, it’s a bit lame for a 2021 but it’s been an unusual couple of years and I’ve not been driving as much as usual. Tonight was perfect conditions and I drove with windows down which is rare for me - but I really enjoyed it. Glad to see you are racking up the miles and smiles, and enjoying it on the track.
Cheers!

Great looking car and dog! I always laugh when I see putting crap gas (my opinion YMMV) in their nice car!
