Default Steel brake lines

I didn’t see much in the search…

for those that installed braided/steel brake lines - which ones did you go with? I see a few available and they are at different pricing.

I was leaning towards FVD from Suncoast. Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks

I have a set of Spiegler on the way. I've used them on 2 other GT cars in the past.

I've used the ones from Rennline. I like them because they have a robust extra covering on top of the braided steel lines.

With the Spiegler you can also replace the hard lines, which is a must if you plan to swap pads and/or do you own maintenance. They also carry a lifetime warranty.

This ... also note you used to be able to buy the 6 line kit , but now you have to do the 4 line kit ( front and rear ) and 2 line kit to replace the front hardlines . Unless @ApexPerformance has any 6 line kits left in stock.

Ordered the genuine Tequipment Manthey ones. Yes, they are no better than what‘s available for much less money but it saves the hassle with the warranty since it‘s a Tequipment part in case sth. goes south.

Why is replacing the hard lines necessary in conjunction with replacing pads?

I think he means it's a must if you do frequent pad changes. The hardline is attached to the (back) caliper and can become damaged if flexed around too much .

On these cars you can no longer swap pads out of the back of the caliper. The bridge on these is now solid.

Is the 2 line kit you mention needed in addition to the 4 line F/R kits? Clark told me I needed a 4 line for the front and a 4 line for the back. I remember purchasing a 6 line kit back in the day for the original GT4 but IIRC that was for both front & rear. I don't remember seeing a 2 line kit offered on the Essex site. I'd like to get rid of all the hard lines.

1st gen rear kits were long enough. People using 19" wheels exposed some issue. A warranty action sent out shorter rear lines that stopped at the bracket. At that time it was easy to access the bracket screw from above. PAG then decided to flip 180 and now it was a PITA to access the bracket screw from the bottom. Now a 2nd line was needed.

You'll love getting rid of the hard lines up front so you can change pads (remove the caliper) without fighting the hardline bracket bolts.
