Default Clearance between rear toe link and wheel

Does anyone know how much clearance you need between the rear toe link and the inside of your wheel? I have the Motorsport rear toe links and 19x11” apex wheels with 3mm of clearance. I looked through existing threads on this topic but didn't find anything definitive. Thanks in advance!

I run 20x11et44 at the rear on my GTS and you can see I have a finger worth of clearance to the end links (~8mm). I think the clearance is less up top to the shock body so look there too if you only have 3mm to the end link

I had the same issue with the Apex 11" wheels. Solved it by getting Tarett toe links. The 'knuckle' on the end is smaller and gave me quite a bit more clearance.

Which size apex wheels is this with? I've currently got the Tarett toe links waiting to go on the car, but still deciding which size Apex wheels to get.

If anyone has this question in the future - for me, with 3mm clearance there, I experienced no rubbing while autoxing the car.

If it does rub a little, just file it down. Tom has been telling people this for years. Worked just fine for me for 2 1/2 years without any structural issues even pulling up to 1.77 Gs. this is 19 x 11 et48 Forgeline.

Just use a regular large file that is about 12 inches long. The aluminum is easy to take off and round off smoothly. There are other photos posted here by me but you would to look for them. I have seen a cut away of that joint and there is plenty of aluminum you can safely remove without affecting the structural integrity of the part.

P.S. I found those. pictures of the filed down toe link.

19 x 10.5” solves this too, is that right ? (Anyone who can confirm ?)

So does the Tarett Motorsport pinch bolt style rear toe links. I run an 11" et55 with no issues 😉

All these things will work. I would be after the wider wheels and wider tires to obtain more overall grip. My et was 48 instead of the OEM 50 at the recommendation of Forgeline to help it clear the rear toe link, but as you can see that was not enough. The wheels do flex and with a 3mm gap you are likely to rub a bit here and there under heavy track use. The best option is to have the Tarett motorsport type rear links with the inner part being from TPC link for the toe stabilization. Since one of those heads got damaged while on my GT4, I bought the Tarett ones for my 4RS and moved those inner offset bushings to those links. Best of both worlds. TPC should just change theirs to be this way, and I assume that would increase their sales dramatically.
