Default GT4rs Insurance Jump

My insurance just doubled to to $180 per month.

My 2017 Targa is $80. 2018 Boxster GTS $65
I know it's hard to compare insurance with a lot of factors, which is why I shared the others.

Anyone else seeing this? This reasons Im being told:

We wanted to make sure you’re aware of a premium adjustment for you upcoming May 2024 Renewal. First, I want you to know this premium adjustment is not your fault, it’s part of an overall base adjustment – in this case specifically affecting Porsche vehicles.

While I wish we had the ability to set rates at the agency level, we unfortunately cannot. As part of our commitment to you, we wanted to share some insight on what’s affecting and causing the auto rate increases across the country.

Higher Car Prices
Higher cost of car repairs (parts & labor) – Porsche specific – we are seeing this on nearly every 2022 & Newer Porsche 718, 911, Taycan, & Panamera Models
“Safer” Cars are more expensive to repair
Increased Accident Severity due to distracted driving

Happening everywhere. CA is especially bad right now. In fact many insurance companies are refusing to write new policies in CA.

My GT4 is $180/mth with 100/300 coverage, clean DMV, and licensed for 25 years.

The good news is my GT4 RS ended up being slightly cheaper ($12) than the 2015 GT3 per month. I'm paying $641 for 6 months with 100/300 coverage, $500 deductible. The bad news is State Farm just canceled all of its HO policies in Santa Cruz County going forward. At least they are giving me another year of coverage on my home before the cancellation becomes final.

I'm at 100/500 it looks like, State Farm.

Sucks about the cancellation. My sister lives in Scotts Valley and has had serious insurance challenges too

WOW!! That is crazy high. That is insane for a clean driving record. Maybe because it is Hayward? Hayward is almost getting as bad as Oakland these days.

Yeah, that is a high possibility on the location. I’m likely switching over to State Farm, I just got a quote from a friend and although it’s still expensive it’s almost $1200 less than my current AAA policy.

250k/500k here with State Farm as well. 4RS is $214/mo and my Ferrari 458 is also $239/mo. Funny enough my daily driver Honda to the office is $211/mo since that's the car driven everyday in LA.

I think some of you with hard to get Porsche GT cars should really look into getting policies with stated values from places like Hagerty or Chubb. I was always under the assumption that these policies cost way more than the regular policies from the more well known companies like State Farm or Farmers, but the difference was very minimal. It makes sense to keep your daily drivers combined with your home policy, but hard to get Porsche GT cars where people are regularly paying ADMs should really have their own stated value policies. This way if anything happens there should be less uncertainty. I live in the Chicago area, in my mid-40s, with a clean record, my 2016 Cayman was about $700 per year with a $1,000 deductible at Farmers. The same car is $777 per year insured for $80,000 ($0 deductible) with Hagerty. I had a 2022 GT4 insured for $140,000 ($0 deductible) with Hagerty and the annual policy was less than $1,400. My 2022 GT3 is insured for $275,000 and costs $2,670 per year. It is worth getting a quote form your local Hagerty agent. @Ksdaoski my local agency's owner is a car fanatic himself and sells policies in Wisconsin as well. Shoot me a PM if you are interested in getting a quote.

24 4RS. Weekend car use and 3k miles a year + garage stored. I have 25 years driving zero accidents, claims, and or citations. Hagerty quoted me $420 a month....ridiculous.

Everytime I try to quote Hagerty and other competitors it’s always way more expensive than my standard policy.

Do you own any GM products? Insurance companies are getting our data.
Car sends data to insurance

I have not seen any threads on stopping any data transmission from your 718.

Your rates for the 911 and the Boxster are pretty similar to what I pay in NH. As for the GT4RS, I won't speculate why it is so much more.
Good thing you are not in Florida which has pretty high auto insurance rates. I was paying 2.2k a year for a BMW 440i convertible, more than double the rate for NH from the same insurance company. Your 911 would probably be 3k/year in Florida if not more.

Shopped last week with A.A.A. and they quoted $8,900/Yr with no tickets/accidents/claims (3 cars). Paying $3,200 now which is outrageous.
