Default Double beep from alarm/door lock

Saw another post on alarm related issues. Having some of my own, not yet checked the owners manual, but will.

Again, car back from service. New alternator and new battery, so power was disconnected so car may have gone back to factory defaults, all radio settings are gone. So anyway the horn is beeping twice when I return from a drive and sometimes before I head out. Any thoughts. I will get my manuel out.

Something is open and triggering this when you try to lock it remotely.

Double beep is the interior motion alarm is not functioning IRC. Single beep is door open, frunk, trunk, or center console.

F12 - That sounds like the issue. I know if I didn't press the key fob two times, 1. lock then 2. unlock then walk away, a few seconds later the car would re lock with the sensor disabled, I wouldn't have false alarms. I believe while in for service they were not aware of my work around so after a couple nights or days of alarm going off unexpectedly they may have disabled the sensor all together.

As others indicated, a single beep is a door open and a double beep is an alarm fault. One of your switches most likely isn't working. Take a look at renntech.org under the diy for door microswitches. I just had to replace a locking mechanism for this very reason.

Sunset Porsche in Oregon. Over the years I've found their prices to almost always be a lower than other dealers. The only downside is the long shipping time to the east coast.
