Hello everyone ... purchased an '85 Targa a few weeks ago and have begun the reconditioning. One of the items letting down the exterior appearance are the door handles. The prior owner tried to touch them up with black paint which makes them look even worse (lumpy).

Other than dropping a ton of $ to buy new ones, what else can be done? Strip them completely down and repaint? Powder coat? I read these were initially anodized? Can they be re-anodized?

A good anodizer should be able to take care of them, or you can buy new handles.
