If I was taking $50k the car would be sold already.

Market hasn’t tanked, it shot up about 3-4 years ago and stabilized.

Easily worth the premium over the clapped-out $46k '87 I test drove yesterday. Too bad I don't like red!!!

Here's what Hagerty thinks of 89 coupes. Is this what tanking looks like?

Spyerx, that's a damn nice car. If I was looking to buy, you'd have a wire into your account for $55k today.

I wish that car was in my garage. Stunning example and worth the $55K IMHO. GLWTH and a bump just because.

I think so, but to do BAT right requires a very active seller during the auction period and my work / travel schedule will not allow me to do that to the level it warrants.

BTW, that later G on BAT right now, not nearly as clean as mine. Does have some better history documentation though. But it's not as nice. Will be interesting to see where it falls.

And FWIW, I have seen exactly TWO g-body cars that show nicer than the one I have. One is Mooty's. The other I saw at Rennsport Reunion.

G body cars and finding them is interesting. For a very long time they were just "old cars" and often not well maintained. They were very cheap for a long time.

So they tend to fall into 3 categories:
used, that show it, well enjoyed, and show the miles, that need massive reconditioning - this is most common - and most I see fall into this category, you buy one of these for 40k and I will bet you that you'll be in over the purchase price of mine in a year.
cars like mine that have been enjoyed but absolutely do not show it - this is probably the most rare category, and for those that actually enjoy the cars, the most desirable
concourse low mile examples - these can be found, they are really expensive, for example if you want a perfect G body, buy Mooty's if he'll sell it. its unbelievable. but it will cost you near 2x what I'm asking

Anyway, the car is fantastic, i just drove it a bunch yesterday and dammit, i'm seriously considering NOT selling it. I just need some space, wife wants her garage spot back, managing 6 cars is a major pain too, my OCD doesn't let a week go by w/o some maintenance on them.

Beautiful. Impeccable. Keep it lol. I don’t think I’ve ever seen any car from the 80’s run and look this clean after 85k miles. Good job!
