1986 930 turbo upgrade
Would like to make a turbo upgrade for 1986 930 3.4l, aiming to get 500-550rwhp with twin-scroll single turbo or twin turbo setting
Attached engine modifications
Adding two modified 997 gt2 intercoolers, big front oil cooler and stronger fuel pump
Kindly advice

997 intercoolers don't work on a 930. You'll need a full bay intercooler like the ones Turbokraft sells. To me, the above turbo setup does NOT make 550 rwhp, not even close. That setup you posted is more like 450rwhp.

I have a twin scroll Garrett GT35R running 1.0 bar on CIS that dyno'd 390 at the wheels. I think that you will really want to go with EFI in order to reach the numbers that you're looking at. CIS at much over 375-400 HP is really difficult, even with an adjustable warm up regulator and modified fuel head. If I had it to do over again, I would choose definitely choose EFI. Tuning the CIS was really tough and it doesn't maximize the available power.
My suggestion would be to call Chris Carroll at Turbokraft. They do a lot of well-engineered high power builds and he has a database of engine configurations and the resulting dyno pulls so that he will be able to advise you.
I sourced my twin scroll turbo, headers, upgraded clutch, and exhaust from him as well as some of the engine parts - everything fit and worked exactly as promised.

The CIS fuel head and warm up regulator mods will get you half way to what EFI costs. If you are set on keeping CIS, you will want to make your warm up regulator adjustable (search Brian Leask and the adjustable WUR). Even then, I’ll bet you fall short of your hp goals because you will be too lean and have to reduce boost to prevent detonation.
Best of luck to you, I hope you get to where you want to be. I still think the most efficient and cost effective way is to talk to Chris at Turbokraft. You don’t want a bunch of internet guys designing your motor, you want to talk to the guy that’s built and dyno’d it already a hundred times. .
Talke a look at (and search) the 930 forum on Pelican, that’s where a bunch of the 930 people hang out.

How things have changed. With the European fuel lines, Andial fuel enrichment with sub injector use to work in the old days. I've seen some new updated systems . Need a dyno & tuner to get any system correct probably
