Default 1989 Speedster search

Hello all. I’m looking to purchase an 89 Speedster. A few questions:

Is there a resource that outlines all of the cars available on the market in the US?

Ive seen some of the production info but I’m yet to find something with a complete explication of units produced in each color with specific options... to understand if a car with specific options and color is 1/1 or 1/xxx for example. Does such a resource exist?

How much do you in the know expect the miles will adversely impact the value longer term. I don’t care if a car has miles on it as I plan to use it, but I suspect there’s a breaking point between miles/price. Any guidance there?

Thanks!

There's a lot here: https://www.turbo-look.com/facts/911-speedster-1989/
includes link to : https://www.turbo-look.com/facts/speedster-statistics/

Not sure it has the exact color/option information you are looking for, but hopefully it's helpful.

On a related question, does anyone know what the production mix was between the wide-body and standard body Speedsters in '89? Which are more sought after today, and what's the general price differential?

If anyone is interested in a true condition 1 +++ Speedster, PM me.

I am the second owner, purchased with 38 miles in 1992, under 2K now. Thinking of thinning the heard

Silver one in France, since it's over 25 years old it can be imported 'as is"

All 1989 Speedsters sold in the USA were wide body variants. I'm not 100% sure but what I came to learn was that globally they made 2103 Speedsters that year. 171 were narrow body (so very rare). In my opinion though the wide-body looks better. I had one for several years but sold it just recently (I should have kept it). Pictures attached...

Thanks! How did the driving experience differ between the speedster and a late model Carrera 3.2, if any?

The Speedster is just special. And yes, the driving experience is different/better than a regular 3.2 . For the wide-body versions, you get the turbo body, turbo brakes and turbo suspension without the added weight of the larger 3.3 turbo motor and turbo. So the handling is pretty impressive even by modern day standards. The 3.2 engine is the exact same as any other Carrera 3.2. I think the biggest difference is the low windshield/roof profile. This makes the car feel vintage in a cool way. The A-pillar is actually just the windshield frame. Driving with the top up was also fun because you could barely see out - quirky in a good way. The Speedster has no rear seats and no power windows - light weight. Aside from this, part of the driving experience is knowing that you'll probably never see another one while you're out for your drive (I never did).
