Default Considering Replacing The Flag Mirrors

Hi,

Has anyone replaced the standard ‘flag mirrors’ with something like the below?

I presume doing this would leave a large hole where the existing mirrors are?

Have you looked at the 964 Aero mirrors? I just put a set on mine as I have never liked the flags....

....here they are on my previous car....

That seems like an unnecessary and unappealing 'upgrade'. My '69 was 'modernized' with flag mirrors and various other things by a previous owner in 1973. All of those modernizations have now been reversed to period correct. Fortunately, original Talbot's and flags are a one-for-one swap.

My '74 had been converted to Flag mirrors. Wanted to replace them with the original style but the holes were a problem.
I've seen where folks will build a base plate to cover the holes and mount whatever mirror they want but I went this route:
https://achtungkraft.com/products/al...31460002660421

These guys make beautiful stuff and the bullet mirrors attaches the same way as the original flag. Covers all the holes and provides a slimmer profile.
They make custom air box covers in CF and customized one for me.
I've been very happy with their support and products. Great guys to work with.
The window winders solve the issue of the handle rubbing against the door panel. (I added the green insert)
Their woven leather and vinyl make for a unique interior.

There stuff looks great however they do not respond to customers. I asked for pricing on mirrors in November, a reply said he would send it out the next day, didn’t. A follow up the next week and still no response. Disconnect there as it is now almost March and I still don’t have a quote from them too bad I’ll take my business elsewhere

Prices are listed on the web site. I’ve found them very responsive during my purchases.

Yes.......
and
Yes it does leave a large hole.

Vent window mounted, classic vintage look, mirrors. Lexan backed vintage decal covering the existing flag mirror mounting location.
