About 10 months. I have two modern Porsches and if I ever get the a/c working well I’ll prefer the antique for a daily driver. After all at 31 years old and only 45k miles, I have some driving to do.

Congratulations on your anniversary. I wish you many more happy years together.

As of this writing I've had my '87 3.2 sunroof coupe for 14 years, 2 months, 3 weeks and 4 days. And I'm only the second owner, with the paperwork to prove it.

Now that I'm semi-retired I have the time to spend on not just maintenance (like getting the A/C working better) but to all of the details.

My most recent 911 ('65) I've only had a few mos but it's going to stay for quite a while and is probably my favorite 911 I've ever owned. Prior to it I've owned a few different examples from 1969-2020 and I think 2020 was my last new Porsche I'll own. It's still an incredible product; my tastes just kept getting older and older until now I'd need to go 356 if I want to back up anymore.

I am jealous of you guys that have kept your cars for so long. I’ve been thru so many that I thought I’d keep “forever”. However, I do think my latest two have that potential. I’ve said that before so I kinda laugh at myself for making that claim, but THIS time I think it’s different

i5 years for me this month, about the only things i have not done personally are
1. paint it ( was already done when i bought it anyway )
2. redo targa roof. needs it but its just not my thing so i leave it in the garage.

i think i enjoy tinkering it as much as i like driving it. i have an oil leak from the cooler and figuring out how to remove it without dropping the engine is a great challenge lol.

Tomorrow August 10th will be my 4th year. I should have bought a 911 many years before but always waited for something better or different project. It was meant to be, finding my 87 being sold by the original owner. I figure I’ll be selling it 30-40 years later to the 3rd owner.

Believe me, I've gone through quite a few "hobby" cars (most for relatively short periods of time) before staying with my current G-series 911. I was lucky enough to get it from the original owner and while it needed a lot of TLC (which brought the price way down) it was mechanically sound. Sometimes, if you look long enough and learn from experience, you can get lucky.
