1980 targa value
Hello,
I know tough to say as there are many unknowns but if you don't mind sharing your guess at the value (or what would you pay for it) would be much appreciated.
I'm thinking of picking up this project. It's an 80 SC targa that someone converted to slant nose. Hasn't ran in 5 years due to a failed clutch and rusted out heat exchanger.
Undercarriage is very clean, no rust.
So, unknown mechanical needs other than what I've been told and it's not in a place I could work on it and try to get it running before making an offer.
Any thoughts? Thank you.

Thanks! Your figure is about what I thought as well. And yes, not my style in the least, would much prefer it was stock but I'm intrigued nonetheless

yeah its what i would loosely refer to an expensive mock up car... tough to tell from that pic with the light , did it just start to rust at a poorly treated seem weld for the flairs? or was it hit in that corner. ?
but its a poseur car anyway with the 3 litre cis engine in it and throwing a turbo body around it, with boxed rockers no less.. definitely a Crocket and Tubbs car. 15-20 k .. and then you start spending ...

Agree with the $15k, could be a host of other mechanical issues plus the paint/rust you can already see. At 15k you could sell it quick if it ends up being too much of a project. Interior is definitely unique, and if you get it dialed you won't be in it for much. Factor in the transport costs as well when giving the guy your $.

Run Forest Run! This looks like a Frankenstein conversion. On top of the slant nose, it's been converted also to have a "Turbo look". Interior also looks wonky, in that the seats are also aftermarket and did you notice the passenger window is out of alignment w/ the body / hence the gap?

Yes, unfortunately the owner didn't agree with us on the price but I think it ended up being fair for both.
The fuel was varnish, so drained that and put fresh fuel and a battery in the car. I was happy to find it runs and drives great.
It does have a leak from the drivers side heat exchanger so working on that now.
Also having a problem with the passenger side headlight lift motor (goes up but not back down) but overall seems pretty good besides the obvious cosmetic issues.
