I only speak from personal experience with P7's on my 81 Turbo. The front was very prone to aquaplane at highway speeds in moderate rain. Bridgestone came along and completely changed the game with their tires back then. I've had just about every brand on my cars, Dunlop, Yokohama, Pirelli, Michelin, Bridgestone, many different series of each, Bridgestone always seems to have a handle on tires for the real world.

This is where I bought new Michelin tires for my 1988 911 cabriolet.
