Flat6 Illumination Tail Lights
I saw these online and reached out to my moody French Canadian friend, Francois, at Flat6 Illumination to order a set. Flat6/ Francois was great to work with and the kit is very well made. Precision fit metal shields are included to protect the back of the lights from rocks/ debris. Very precise mounting brackets are included as well. The fitment was very good and the build quality is high. Installation was relatively easy, though some electrical work is needed. I kept the blade connectors and opted to simply add new male blade pieces to my new lights, making them easily removable should I want to go back to stock.
I shouldn't be surprised by how much road dirt can accumulate in 40 years, but it's stunning. If you guys haven't popped off your tail-lights and cleaned out the area/ installed new seals, it might be time. Lots of stuff gets kicked up there from the tires.
I know this look isn't for everyone, but I wanted to go LED for my tail lights and I really like the look of these.
blade connectors stayed on
after cleaning out a dried up lake bed of dirt

Those are the tail lights Doc Brown would use after making 1.21 gigawatts from Libyan terrorist plutonium.
Operational images, including night time?

They're not exactly classic, I agree. Will get some night time shots and follow up. Daylight testing was good, they're definitely bright.

Unique. Leaning toward RS.
The stock brightness definitely needs an upgrade.
Night photos of lights are difficult to judge due to exposure compensation by the camera but I look forward to seeing pics.

Interesting, but the next logical question is can Francois build something a little more traditional without making it an exact copy. I have heard he is not really moody after a good glass of Beaujolais, so call him after his lunch break.
