Default 74 Carrera US Model....value?

Looking for some guidance from the experts on here on potential value of a 74 911 Carrera...relatively complete car. Ground up restoration was started, not completely original as some customization was done to add the front cross bar and internal cage were added. Body should be good, first coat of paint applied. Brakes and suspension have been done (not shown in this pic).

Original parts are there, but needs wheels and front and rear bumpers, engine decklid. Engine and trans probably need a rebuild.

Trying to decide whether to keep this project and finish it as a 74, backdate to an RS, or look to sell. I will try to get some more detailed pics of the other parts and overall condition.

Being a US car, I'm not sure you'd get the highest return if you kept is as a 74 model. Maybe backdate to a 73 RS tribute?

If it were mine I'd probably keep it as a 74 "G" but hot rod the motor and suspension. To me the 73 backdates are played out but people still love them.

Should have matching motor and transmission. Original rear decklid and fuch wheels were stolen 10+ years ago when it was parked outside. Haven't found front and rear bumpers yet. Can't recall if those were stolen as well. I didn't think they were, but I will keep looking.

Few more pics...

A 74 is valuable here in CA due to smog. I’d keep the body stock and enlarge the motor.

A 78 SC is the same body style as the USA 74-75 carrera but a much better car. However the value is that it IS a factory Carrera and therefore worth a premium. We sold a very very nice one about three months ago for $75.000

Amazing the difference an MFI motor makes the euro models go for 100k more.

The Euro/MFI cars basically have a 73 RS 2.7 engine and weigh practically the same. Not very many were made.

I think the engine was the only difference between US and Euro models, 45hp more. If it were mine I'ld rebuild the engine to Euro specs Mahle P and C about $4800, the expensive parts are the MFI throttle bodies/pump/stacks.
Sure transform the car from a drivers perspective. Pretty sure they still used the 7R block.
