1974 911 Carrera Owned by Steve Weiner - Full Photos
Good afternoon,
Below is a link to the 1974 911 owned by Steve Weiner (who owned Rennsport Systems) who was a very active participant of Rennlist. After Steve passed, I was very humbled by the kind words that were mentioned here and on other forums - it was very clear the amount of people that interacted with Steve on a personal and professional level.
I thought I would post the link to photos of what he considered to be his ideal 911 after decades of modifications utilizing all of his knowledge to create a completely dialed-in vehicle.
Please take this as a sharing of information about his vehicle (from every angle possible to photograph) to a group of people I feel would most appreciate it, and not a solicitation to engage in bidding (moderators, if this should be posted in another place, please let me know).
Please enjoy this beauty: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/19...rera-coupe-24/

Wow what a beaut ...
I know his Wife predeceased him , do you know how the car ended up on Bring a trailer ? Are you somehow related to Steve ??? I would imagine the car would have gone to next of Kin or become part of his estate ? I'm actually a little sad to seeing it get sold.
Any details on this front you could share ?

Thanks for posting the link. Great to see this car in detail.
I'm a little sad too, but I understand. These estate sales happen all the time. Reminds me of when Grady Clay passed away.

Beautiful car from a truly good guy! No way I can recall how many times Steve had helped me on this and that! It's as if this 911 is a rolling chronicle of his personal love for the breed, each mod a testament of what the man believed a 911 should be! It is bittersweet to see, indeed.

@theiceman The car passed to the estate - my hope is that someone that knows Steve and can appreciate the car for the precision machine that it is will be able to purchase. I know many people that knew Steve well (even with little interest in cars) are following closely with interest.

I had seen the threads here and on Pelican back when Steve passed and wanted to say my piece, but life got in the way. I commented the following there but wanted to share here as well. I wrote the following:
Could this car be the most sorted and well-maintained air-cooled 911 out there? Based on my interactions with Steve, I think it is a distinct possibility. He helped me sort my '86 3.6 G50 Carrera. When the discerning enthusiast is seeking opinions and advice, often you have to take what experts and enthusiasts say, mix it with your own knowledge/intuition, and distill it down to what makes the most sense. Not with Steve- every single piece of knowledge he generously shared was backed up by well-thought-out reasoning and anecdotal evidence that all added up perfectly- so much so that I would daydream of approaching him to write a book. It would be called "The Gospel According to Steve".
I was sorry to hear of his passing. If you have a question about your air-cooled 911, or just want to understand what a generous and knowledgeable gentleman Steve was, go read his posts on Pelican or Rennlist and take what is written as the word of a Porsche God for the people of a Porsche God. Bless you Steve!

Very light, but BAT doesn't seem to be kind to slightly upgraded cars, only over the top backdates or restos with all the new rennline bits that will impress at cars and coffee.
This was a well set up car by someone who knew his stuff.
The buyer got a sweet ride for a low price. Hope he knows what he got.
