The voltage drain on my 86 turned out to be reversed wiring on the engine compartment light. I would have never had discovered this but my mechanic noticed it when it was up on the lift and the light was on. Ever since no issues with battery drain.

Any resolution on this? Millermotor, this forum is a valuable resource and would benefit from your findings that would possibly add a dimension to the problem. Hopefully you're not a "one and done" member.
