Georgia Mtn Drive Saturday Dec 18th
Hi all - there are about 7-10 of us that do drives up in the GA mountains about 3-4x a year and we've got another drive coming up on Saturday Dec 18th. We've really spread the word this time so we're hoping to get a Large turnout. so far about 10-12 new people are going to be there and we'd like to add plenty more. we meet between 7:30-7:45am in the Starbuck's parking lot off of Mansell Rd just east of GA 400. We leave by 8am and head up GA 400 till near the end then veer off for the mountains. there are some pretty incredible roads up there that really can test your car. our last drive in sept the roads were WIDE open because we left early (like this time) and had them all to ourselves. Anyway, we are usually in back in Atlanta proper by noon to get back to our families. sometimes a few stick together for lunch and go to Helen but that just depends whose up for it.
even if you can't make it for the drive, just come to the parking lot for the sendoff so that we may all meet and hopefully plan another in the new year.
let me know if any of you are interested.

Is this usually Porsche cars only? I know some BMW guys and a neighbor with an s2000 that would no doubt like to attend. I can understand wanting to keep the numbers low- no need to create our own traffic jam.

usually it is just Porsches but this time there will be 2 M3's and atleast 1 Ferrari. However, with the big turnout(something like 25+ porsches) i am fearful that we would be creating our own logjam as you say. normally i would say bring 'em along but I know the BMW contingency is huge here in ATL and I didn't post the drive to them just because i wanted to mainly focus on Pcars for this drive.
i am open to do another drive soon and have everybody participate that wants to. i hope you understand and i by no means am trying to be the proverbial "porsche snob"
thanks

Well it looks like the weather is going to cooperate! Sunny with high/low of 55/33. Sunday brings rain/wind/snow showers so let's enjoy the last day of bliss for a while!
Look forward to meeting all the new faces

Is this mountain run still on for tomorrow? Any chance you'll be stopping at the end of 400 or somewhere near the mountains before heading for the "hills"? I live in Buford and would be doing alot of backtracking to Mansell Road.
Although.......... if you need to backtrack you might as well do it in a Porsche!
Thanks
Andrew

Three Wheelin'
You guys should have seen the guy in the Burgundy '78 911 SC---he was keeping up or going faster than just about everyone on the run and he was down by quite a few HP on most of the cars there [Ferraris, Boxsters, a bunch of 996s and a few 993s]...I was in front of him in my 993 and every time I'd get space on him on a longer straightaway, he was all of a sudden on my *** at the exit of the turns!! it was a ton of fun, and whoever didn't get to come, please try to make it next time--you won't regret it!!!
