Hi Everyone,

I have an 89 Carrera (euro). My interior lights are contradicting what is described in the user manual, on both sides.

With them switched towards the back of the car they are off constantly. The middle setting they are on when the door opens, and set to the front of the car they are on constantly.

I asked Porsche and they said they changed the way the lights operated at some point in time on their cars, and I might not have the ones as in the user manual.

Anyone else heard about this, what should the correct settings be? I only ask because there is a problem with the alarm, and the garage who installed the alarm thinks there could be a bad earth, though Porsche have checked and there is no electrical fault, or bad earth.

Texasgooner, yours are OK. I have an 88 Carrera and the settings are as follows: back depressed - off: in the middle - comes on with door open: front depressed - on all the time.
