It is Continuous Injection System. It was Bosch's mechanical fuel injection used on SC's up to 83'. At a REALLY high level, it basically works by metering the air entering the engine with a plate that swivels up & down just before the throttle. The plate has an arm where it swivels and this arm will push a distribution valve that will open what are called "slits". The slits would be the passages where the fuel is going to pass to the injectors. Note: All at the same time, not pulsed or sequentially like a modern EFI would.

The tricky part is that this system uses a lot of pressure differentials in order to work with the mixture settings. If you have vacuum leaks or leaks of any kind, it will definetly cause a little headache if your not familiar with the system. A great book and a must have is http://www.bentleypublishers.com/product.htm?code=gfib
