Clarify for me, would you guys:
1. Is the footwell blower absent on the SC (i.e only in a Carrera)?
2. On my SC, if (when, really) I eliminate the rear blower and ducting, can I still get fan-forced air into the windshield (from the dash blower fan, right?) for demisting?
Thanks!
Edward

Ed,
The SC's only had the rear blower. When I had my engine rebuilt I backdated the exhaust to SSI's and removed the nonworking rear blower. The system actually worked pretty well without it but relied on the engine fan to force the air to the cabin. With the engine spinning a 3K there was plenty of heat but at idle it was just not up to the task especially on the east coast in November or December. This forced me to install the blowers..huge difference.

Ahh, thanks for confirming the absence of footwell blowers!
Yeah, I understand about the dependence of RPMs to heat the cabin, but in my case (SoCal) it's not an issue. More important to me is the windshield blower. If I ditch the rear (engine compartment) motor, will it impact the defogging capability or the windshield? TIA, all!

Well, you could do a little experiment and see what works for you. Remove the rear blower a whip up some duct work. Defrosting wants heat..demisting/defogging doesn't need as much. Are you going to backdate the heating system or just remove the blower and rig up some duct work?
