Nice to hear someone is out driving. I wrapped some brake work & did a test drive this morning & barely warmed the car up before I had to turn home from the heat. It was NO fun in the garage over the last few days. I was a puddle of sweat, grease & brake fluid.

Ice - let me know when you want to run to Seagrave & I might run with you if I'm in town. I saw that you tried to make the meet in Miss last week. This Sat might be a big one because DeAd-EyE invited the Fchat guys. Weekly Exotic Meet In The GTA! Next One Is on Next saturday, Come on down! There were some pretty cars out last Sunday at the Make A Wish event on Bayview. I worked it as a volunteer. Autofarm brought the red 959 which looked & sounded wonderful.

Rod - I still haven't gotten it together for that lunch we talked about yet . . .

Tunnels, yes !!

Mid-Town tunnel in NY is great as much as blasting down Broadway in Manhattan on a Sunday morning without traffic hearing the sounds of the exhaust echo off the buildings !!

I think I'll be taking a trip when the weather cools down

I'm interested. The only downside is that it's a long drive from Sherway Gardens to Seagrave. Probably 1 hr 20 or so. Maybe Rod could meet us partway - 48 & Aurora Rd or Bloomington or similar???

Any votes/thoughts on most fun gear in a 911?
3rd is a very exciting gear. it pulls hard like first (though not as fast) but pulls so much longer. first to second is fun but still rather short. 4th is an odd gear only feels good at WOT to me and 5th has always been boring.

Works well for me.
Not this weekend, as I have my daughter.
Every second one after that is good.

Behemoth? I own both an 81 and an 83sc as well as a 928s4 (Tim Murphy supercharged) I can tell you that before supercharging no way in the world my or any stock sc's could run away from any stock 928. In fact before my supercharger you would need a well tuned 930 to even have a chance. Now that the blower is on the 928s4 you would need a brand new twin turbo and even then you better know how to drive. Do not knock the 928 as I have both cars and they are both special cars. As for the behemoth comment, when my 911 and 928 are side by side in the garage there is VERY little difference in size and weight is only 400lbs. diff. My 928 weighs less than a 997. This 928 vs.911 thing is stupid as we all know the 928 represented all that the engineers at Porsche had to offer in the 18 yrs it was produced. It was their flagship, their masterpiece if you will. It's downfall was only the fact they priced themselves out of the market at the end. IE. In 1995 the turbo 911 was around 80 G's or so , the 928 was upwards of 120G's. The last one sold for near 200. I like all porsches, and I think thats how they intended it to be!

ICE....ICE....ICE...ICE.....ICE......A bohemouth you say. Hmmmm I'm very dissappointed..........I don't recall stating anything about having trouble catching up..........I do recall saying that your ride was very quick but it should be considering the weight compared to my 928............I would never expect that you would slam me and my 928. I would never consider slamming you or your 911 as I respect the brand.......very poor taste? or are your remarks in jest.............Regards Bill

I have both a 1984 928s and a 1982 911sc. Totally different creatures. I love them both. I hope this doesn't turn into another shark vs 911 battle. Hard to compare with my 928 being an automatic cruiser. They are both fantastic rides!

hey guys relax .. My only point is that the 928 is a big and fairly heavy car compared to the 911 .. I do not mean to knock anyone and appologize if I did . I would gladly own one in a second if I could , and I have no doubt that that 5L 32v motor has tonnes of power and would blow my little 911 away .. I do appologize Bill , I just think in different circumstance the different cars show their attributes, just like when we were driving around town and the 928 cornered like on rails due to the 50/50 split and made it far more maneuverable than mine ..
..so am I forgiven >???..

ice ..

It was never a question of forgiveness Ice..........I wasn't sure if you were talking about my car or me......lol...........I knew what you meant and deep down you hurt my little feelings........lololololol
Not a problem....You are entitled to your opinion. Did I really say that? ..lol.....Hey where and when is the next get together? Remember Tony and his BMW? Well he took out the top end. He's looking for a new head for his inline six. .........Regards Bill
