Wound her out a little today
Just went for a drive around the country roads. The car is running VERY well and seams to like the more humid days with the air charged with water vapour. it is cooling down tonight and the car is humming. I took it on to one of my favorite roads that you can see for miles and let it out a little . Not something I normally do but I was in the mood , before I knew it I was doing 150 and I was only in 3rd .....( er.. that would be KPH ) But still what a thrill . Decided to real her in and putt - putt home ..
have a good one guys ..

You make me miss my SC!

By the time I've wound out my SC in third gear that's usually enough for me. And I'll agree, I drove back last night late, roof open, windows down, no air conditioning and the temperature still at 88 F at 11:00 PM. A perfect invitation for a speeding ticket but fortunately no cops on the back roads. My favorite gear range is the 2-3 shift.

For sure third for me .. If I need to pass anybody i drop it from 5th to third and let it rip . I was actually on the way to a car show last month woth a guy I met in his 928. He could not get over the fact when I went to pass someone I took off loke a rocket and there is no way he could catch up in his bohemouth in any short space of time. ... and definitely going close to red line in 3rd makes me as about as uncomfortable as I want to get so I cruised home, roof out engine humming .... tunnels are still the best for air cooled engines though .. :-)

I vote for third gear.

Nice! Constantly reading about all the problems folks are having with their p-cars sometimes makes me paranoid about taking my SC out to stretch. Now I think I'll go for a drive.
Thanks, iceman.

Tunnels! I love tunnels. Single lane. Dual exhaust off of the walls.
Hammer it in 2nd with the windows open.
As much fun as you can have with your clothes on.

yeah but just WAY to hot ... not having AC I am sure I will stick like glue to my "leatherette" seats ..... maybe tonight around 9 or 10 .. besides I have been a bit tentative since I have discoverd my wheels don't actually fit into the wheel well ... new wheels show up tomorrow ...then maybe I will take a run to Seagrave Ontario... you never know....

What's AC?
I hear you. Yesterday I was turning into a parking lot and my steering wheel jerked as I hid the edge of the entrance. Because my hands were sweaty, it slipped out of my hands and sent me straight at the side of a car trying to exit the parking lot. I slammed on the brakes to a dead stop as the poor guy sitting there tries to jump into his passenger seat as I stop a foot away from him.
Would you believe that is the closest I have ever come to damaging my P-car.
Always a cold beer in Seagrave.
