top-end rebuild smoke!
Following a recently less than succesful rebuild,
my cars back in mechanics, with intermittent smoke.
following a series of engine in car tests, in an attempt to localise the source of
smoke, He's tracked it down to cyl#3 when the engine stops at a certain point.
(determined by marking crank pulley) and observing start-up with exhaust removed for signs of oil being chucked out port.
He's hoping for a relatively easy fix, possibly inlet valve
anyone else here heard this a likely culprit ?

ie; not the expected puff they all do
including mine not so long back
so i know what I'm reffering to

what effect
Might a faulty injector have.
My mechanic seems under the impression, an injector might be dumping un-burnt fuel, via inlet valve in such a copius quantity,
its where the smoke is occasionally coming from.
I've not heard this, at least on anything other than a diesel.
he's taken a look at the rest of head, and thinks the valve seals look in order
so if its oil causing it, he's unsure where it originates
