Default My 911 was vandalized...need some advice

Hey all. Well as the subject reads, my 911 was vandalized. It appears to be a random act of stupidity on the part of some hooligan(s). They spraypainted Fu*k U across my car. Sadly, it would appear that it cannot be simply buffed out as I have no clear coat really left on a 30 year old paint job. My car is covered to the hilt as far as insurance goes, and they will cover this work, so I need to bring it to a reputable paint shop in the Seattle area. Any suggestions?

Bummed in the Northwest...

That bites

At least they didn't dent any panels.

Crimes like this shuld be subject to capital punishment.

I always keep my car in the garage or in the locked office parking deck. I will not take the chance of parking it at a mall or a place weher dis-respecful kids hang out.

Could be a blessing. If it were me, I would have already tried laquer thinner and goof off on the offending paint. It takes a few days to set up. If you have the coverage, maybe you can upgrade the paint ?

I don't think your 30-year-old paint ever had any clear.

I suggest you visit a body shop for advice. I bet you can get the spray paint off without hurting the automotive paint. Perhaps mineral spirits would do it.

Lol, true. No clear coat. Yet, the point remains. There is a large, blue, spray painted obscenity across my car. I am going to contact a detail shop and see what they think. Maybe they can get it out.

If the paint is original, I'd do everything possible to preserve it. If not, have it redone. A repaint will never be the same as original.

I hope you find the little SOB that did it or hopefully, there's something to that Karma thing. Thankfully the worst that ever happened to me was when I was parked in a movie theater parking lot with my 912 (16 yrs old on a date). I came out and somebody, apparently with a severe upper respitory infection, had spit numerous times on my windshield. Pretty gross and totally pointless.

In other non-porsche related incidents. I had a pair of skis stolen in a McDs parking lot and parts from my mt bike while it was on my rack.

The only common thread in these events is that all were perpetrated by some insignificant punk who will hopefully get caught doing something more indecent that will land his *** in jail with 'Tank' the cross dressing, neo-**** in cell block 6.

Good luck to you and your beautiful car.

Sorry to hear about the Vandalism on your car; that is really sick and I hope they get what they deserve one day. I don't know about Seattle but I had a rear bumper cover repainted by a shop that Roger Jobs Porsche in Bellingham uses on all their cars and they did an impeccable job. That may be too far for you though.
