Oh right, I see what you mean. The description is a bit strange to me:
"1971 Porsche 911t 2.2s Engine 91,139 original pampered miles! 4 Speed short shift! New clutch!! Tangerine/Black Tex Interior, Only 1,000 miles on complete engine and body rebuild! Rebuilt with carrera pressure cam chain tensioners. All new suspension with poly bushings and Turbo tie rods! New Brakes Complete stripping of body and painted!"
If those 91K miles were pampered then why would it need a complete engine and body rebuild? Also are those carbs or MFI. "Original" cars don't have none matching motors...
I don't mean to nit pick, but I think descriptions should be honest.
I would also add that you have to see these cars in person. Low resolution internet pictures are no substitute IMHO.

Thanks. Does the odometer read correctly with that combination? I ask b/c I have '69 911E with 14" fuch wheels and I'm think about upgrading to a different wheel tire/combo.
Are you running tubes?

um.....I have only had the car for a week and i have'nt even thought about that! I will drive my wifes car around the neighborhood this evening and then drive the 911 and see if they add up to the same numbers.
i wonder if it affects the reading of my speedometer as well? I may have no idea how fast I am actually going....although, in DC traffic my guess is, pretty damn slow

I found my family member in 1974...through newspaper classifieds. Part of your problem finding a 1972 S coupe or Targa is in the numbers produced. Also in the numbers brought into the USA. Back then, the S models were topping $10,000. The dealers considered this to be a barrier number, so they ordered 911T's, often added S appearance packages, and still could sell the cars for under $10K. There were 1750 '72S coupes and 983 '72S Targas produced world wide. Of these, according to an article Bruce Anderson wrote for the Early 911S Registry's newsletter, 278 coupes and 258 Targas were shipped to the USA. Who knows how many survivors there are? But many of us who have one (mine is coupe #9112301556) aren't very interested in selling. Haven't figured out how to attach an image here, or I would...
